Original Paintings and Prints

Self-taught after finding his muse during a 2001 safari in South Africa, Mike Handley has made great strides in his dozen years as an artist.  His paintings have been featured on the covers of books and magazines, and he’s taken prizes at almost every show he’s entered. As the longtime editor of RACK, one of North America’s most beloved big game hunting magazines, it’s only natural that wildlife comprises most of his body of work. As you’ll see, however, his tastes vary. Now 52, Mike spends most weekends and many weeknights in front of his easel. His lovely wife, Gita, and faithful dog Sweet Potater have become accustomed to seeing the back of his head.

NOTE: “Giclee prints” are printed on the finest acid-free paper or stretched canvas with a dozen inks instead of the usual four, which means the colors are more vibrant and closer to the original paint. “Digital prints” are derived from the standard four-ink process. Both Giclees and Digitals are printed to order. “Lithographs” are from a limited run on a full-size printing press.
